Reduce Recidivism Ghana
Youth-led initiative committed to supporting the reformation and reintegration of juveniles in correctional centers.
Our Mission
Our mission is to reduce recidivism and crime rates among young people by providing vocational training, skill development, and mentorship that facilitate effective rehabilitation and smooth reintegration into society.

“I started Reduce Recidivism because I believe transformation is possible when we treat people with empathy and invest in their future. Every success story reminds us: no one is beyond redemption.”
— Tracy Frimpong, Founder & Youth Advocate

“Before joining the program, I felt forgotten. The vocational training helped me find purpose again. Now, I run a small carpentry business and people look at me with respect, not pity. Reduce Recidivism gave me a second chance.”
— Esther A., former participant (Accra)

On February 5, 2025, I taught young girls at Osu Correctional Center how to make bleach—but we created more than a cleaning solution. We sparked hope, transformation, and the belief in second chances. One girl said, “I am a newer version of myself,” reminding me that redemption is real. These girls aren’t lost—they’re waiting for a future. Let’s invest in their growth, reduce recidivism, and choose to rewrite lives.
-Everloving Owusuaa Apenteng

“When my son was taken to the correctional center, I thought I had lost him. But thanks to this program, he came back home a changed person — disciplined, skilled, and full of dreams. We are rebuilding our relationship, and I’m hopeful again.”
— Abena A., mother of a beneficiary

To Break the Cycle of Reoffending & Create Opportunities for Lasting Impact.
Reduce Recidivism is a youth-led initiative in Ghana committed to supporting the reformation and reintegration of juveniles in correctional centers. Founded by Tracy Frimpong in January 2025, the initiative empowers young offenders through hands-on vocational training, life skills development, and mentorship that foster self-reliance and restore dignity.
Through practical training and personal development, we make the reformation journey more empowering and transformative. Participants gain confidence, purpose, and the tools needed to reintegrate successfully into society. By focusing on long-term change and working with communities to reduce stigma, we aim to break the cycle of reoffending and create opportunities for lasting impact.
